What is LocatAR??
Due to the growing involvement of Smartphones in daily & personal life, we developed an application called LocatAR, to implement live data i.e. user taking inputs from sensors, location data and Meta data (data used for augmentation i.e. web service) to gather & display exact information of the locations by just moving the phone in desired location. LocatAR can be used on Android Ginger Bread & above versions.
Using the app user can search for various locations, establishments, hotels, hospitals, airport etc. LocatAR can find out locations as close at 500 meters up to 20 kilometers. The app requires internet connection to work. The results shown in the app are as obtained from Google server.
LocatAR displays location in 2 views i.e. initial screen and map view screen
•The initial screen lists the places in the direction in which the phone is pointed
•The map view broadens this search by listing all the places within the selected distance around the point from where the search is initiated. It displays the places around using the current location as start point, and provides Street view and satellite view
Why LocatAR??
LocatAR helps users to locate the establishments by just moving the phone in desired direction. The app instantaneously displays the location along with distance between user’s current position and the desired location. This app can be beneficial to tourists in new cities & to other users to find ATM’s, Hotels and other establishments.
